4 Earth 2 Mars Holding B.V.

Pioneering Sustainable Solutions for Earth and Beyond

Introduction:
4 Earth 2 Mars Holding B.V. is at the forefront of developing Circular Architectural Techniques and innovative construction systems aimed at reducing the environmental footprint and cost of the construction industry. Our vision is to revolutionize the sector by integrating advanced technologies and sustainable practices, ensuring a resilient future for both Earth and the Moon.

Our Philosophy

At 4 Earth 2 Mars Holding B.V., we embrace the same principles as R. Buckminster Fuller, whose visionary insights continue to inspire and guide our mission:
  • "To do more and more with less and less until eventually you can do everything with nothing."

This principle drives our commitment to efficiency and sustainability. By developing Circular Architectural Techniques (CATs) and Circular Architectural Designs (CADs), we aim to minimize resource use while maximizing functionality and impact.

  • “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

We embrace this transformative approach by creating new standards in construction and living. Our innovative solutions, such as the Circular BlueMoon Village and CT-Habitats, exemplify how new models can redefine sustainable living.

  • "Our beds are empty two-thirds of the time. Our living rooms are empty seven-eighths of the time. Our office buildings are empty half the time. It’s time we gave this some thought."

Fuller's observation on space utilization inspires our focus on optimizing living and working environments. By leveraging modular and multifunctional design principles, we ensure that spaces are used efficiently and sustainably, reducing waste and environmental impact.

Our Commitment

4 Earth 2 Mars Holding B.V. is dedicated to creating a sustainable future for the built environment. By investing in research and development, we are paving the way for innovative solutions that address the critical issues of our time. Our goal is to enable local communities to build affordable, simple, and sustainable habitats, enhancing the quality of life for all species on Earth and beyond.

Our Solutions

At 4 Earth 2 Mars, we focus on addressing the critical challenges faced by the construction industry through the following innovative solutions:
Circular Architectural Techniques (CATs)
We leverage Geometry, Origami, and Circular Design principles to develop CATs, which enable us to reduce costs by half and emissions by four times compared to concrete, thereby improving efficiency and productivity. Our CATs include:
  • Two Circular Biocomposite Blocks (CBc-Blocks): Designed for reusing, repurposing, and serviceability, these blocks enable the construction, disassembly, and rebuilding of structures of various functions and sizes.
  • Circular Bio-compost Brick (CBc-Brick): Developed for use as interior walls, these bricks offer flexibility and sustainability.
  • Circular Foundation: All our structures are based on a single circular foundation, simplifying construction and ensuring stability.
  • Circular Construction System: This system allows for the efficient assembly and disassembly of buildings, facilitating long-term reuse and repurposing.
  • Circular Architectural Designs (CADs): Our CADs enable the design of architectural forms using only two CBc-Blocks. We are developing user-friendly software that empowers locals to:
    • Design their Habitats: Create their own sustainable and functional living spaces.
    • Compute and Produce: Perform structural calculations and visualize designs.
    • Construct Onsite: Manufacture and assemble their homes locally, collaborating within their communities.
CADs integrate all steps, including architectural design, structural calculation, visualization, production, and manufacturing, and even calculate the emissions and sustainability of the buildings in one simple application. Enabling locals to rebuild their habitats after man-made or natural crises is the only functional way to build 80,000 homes every day for 36 years.

Key Properties of Our Solutions

  • Efficiency and Productivity: By employing advanced design principles, our systems streamline construction processes, reducing time and labor costs.
  • Safety: Our lightweight, prefabricated, and modular construction products significantly reduce the risk of fatal injuries in the construction process.
  • Lower CO2 Emissions: Our innovative materials and methods result in construction emissions that are four times lower than traditional concrete. Additionally, our solutions reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by minimizing transportation needs.
  • Cost Reduction: Our circular systems and local production methods reduce overall construction costs by half, lower labor costs by providing a simple DIY system, decrease the time of construction, and reduce the need for heavy lifting construction machinery.

Lunar Habitats

The development of lunar habitats offers valuable insights that can be applied to Earth-based projects. These habitats emphasize:
  • Well-being: Ensuring the health and comfort of inhabitants in harsh environments.
  • Minimization of Space: Efficiently using limited space to create functional living areas.
  • Adaptation to Harsh Environments: Developing robust solutions that can withstand extreme conditions, which also benefit construction in challenging Earth environments.

Our Strategies

  • Radical Collaboration: We believe in the power of collaboration across disciplines and industries to drive meaningful change. By partnering with diverse stakeholders, we foster an environment of shared knowledge and innovative problem-solving.
  • Disruptive Impact Innovation: Our commitment to innovation extends beyond incremental improvements. We aim to disrupt the status quo by developing groundbreaking solutions that redefine the construction industry.
  • Category Design: We are not just creating new products; we are defining new categories. Our approach involves setting new standards and expectations for the construction sector, driving widespread adoption of sustainable practices.
  • Collective Actions and Community Leadership: We promote collective actions and community leadership to tackle the housing and environmental crises effectively. Empowering communities to lead and collaborate ensures sustainable and scalable solutions.

Initial Proposals

Our initial proposals focus on developing innovative habitats both on Earth and the Moon:
  1. Circular BlueMoon Village (CBMV): An analog Circular Moon Village designed to provide affordable housing for 180 people by building 144 Circular Tiny Habitats (CT-Habitats). This project aims to demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of circular construction techniques for sustainable living.
  2. CT-Habitats for Earth and Beyond: Circular Tiny Habitats (CT-Habitats) are designed for both terrestrial and extraterrestrial environments, providing compact, efficient, and sustainable living spaces. These habitats leverage our Circular Architectural Techniques (CATs) to ensure affordability and adaptability.
  3. Artemis 010: A co-creative initiative to build the first circular bio-composite sculptures in collaboration with citizens, companies, and cities. This project fosters community engagement and showcases the potential of sustainable materials and design.
  4. Noordwijk Lunar Circular Tiny Habitats (NL CT-Habitats): Our proposal to the NL Space Campus includes building a Circular Moon Village that features an exhibition space, office space for sustainable space solutions, an analog Circular Lunar Village, 72 affordable housing units, and 108 short-stay hotels. This initiative aims to create a hub for sustainable space innovation and living.
